Sims 4: Dine Out Review

First off, I’m a huge Sims lover. I have (most) of the expansions, packs, etc. the game has to offer. Some are better than others, and each have their pros and cons. The Sims 4 Dine Out has recently came out and I, (along with many others) was stoked. I’ve played this expansion since the day it came out and I feel I know the expansion inside out.

It is very expensive to start up your restaurant, so it most likely will not be something you can do right away with new Sims families. However, you could always cheat your way up with cash. I’m not a huge fan of cheats myself, so I have only been able to afford cheap low-end places, but I am aspiring to soon build a much fancier restaurant.

First of all, sometimes your employees like to do this little thing where they, along with your customers, stop and do nothing but stare. Any sims player knows the familiar stop and stare action they do occasionally and annoyingly. Sometimes causing them to pee themselves. (side note: my waiter did pee himself and then handled food like it was nothing) But it’s slightly worse. Everyone does it. And that’d be fine, except I’m paying my stupid cooks and waitresses to do nothing! So if this happens the whole shift, I’m just broke and that’s a wasted day for me. It usually only happens when the place is busy, but I’d like to make money when it’s busy, not piss customers off.

There’s also this nice little feature where you can welcome your guests and do random things like check on tables. You can also prioritize their food if they’re being bitchy and want their food now. Anyone who’s worked in the food business knows what I’m talking about. At least it’s realistic. If I welcome a customer too soon (as in before they reach the table) it’s like they forgot why they were there in the first place and then proceed to dance vigorously to the stereo while ignoring their host who is desperately trying to seat them. My biggest culprit is this old lady who also happens to be a food critic. Sometimes she does it just because she likes the jams I guess. So unfortunately, I had to turn off my stereo so she would calm down and critique my food like she was supposed to. Sadly I can not get a rating above 3 stars from this woman because she would rather dance than eat. Maybe she’s got an agenda out for me because I stopped her from dancing and made her do her damn job.

So I decided to go “undercover” to find out what my incompetent critic thought needed improvement. Pretty much I sat down and ordered food. I drew on a napkin a little bit and rudely, a waiter stopped me to ask what I needed. Furious, I left the table. (I didn’t plan on it, but my sim decided to exercise her free will and dance to the stereo) I decided the stereo needed to leave permanently and chucked it in the magical trash can outside. So pretty much, don’t have a stereo in your dine out experience. It only brings pain and sorrow.

There’s a lot of features I love though. You don’t have to be present to make money. You can stay home in your pj’s all you want. But expect to get a message saying your store is losing money and you should go check it out to only find out your waitresses and cooks decided to be lazy.

What I liked is you can literally do what you want with your employees, menus, etc. You can make your waitresses and cooks wear whatever. So if you wanna run a bikini bar and make your cooks dress in boxer briefs only then go ahead. Let your dreams run wild. If you just want to serve ice cream and some bar drinks go ahead. You can make a super cheap fast food place or have it be crazy expensive and fancy.

At the end of the day you’re graded by how good the day went. Every time a customer leaves a rating pops over their head. And before they leave you can check what they’re thinking and what their current rating for your establishment would be. You can check up with them or prioritize their food, which they like both of very much. If you want you can also comp their food or drink in an effort to raise their rating up.

During the end of day report, a screen will pop up and say what you excelled at, and what you need improvement on. The easiest thing to excel at is personal touch. All you really need to do there is just check up on all of your customers. You can’t take their order or make their food so that is really all you can do with your business. Which is why it is nice that they do not require you to watch over your restaurant like they do for businesses and stores. I found this screen helpful as I wasn’t struggling and trying to find out what my restaurant is lacking.

In conclusion, I really did enjoy this expansion. Although, I strongly feel like it could have just went with “Get to Work.” If you are itching to have a restaurant, I think it’s worth the buy, just expect it to take up a lot of your sims time and expect to put in a lot of effort into making your restaurant a profitable one. Now all I can do is wait and hope for a Pets Expansion.

Does Bernie Still Stand a Chance?

Yes, he does. Those superdelegates? Do not pay two flying horse crap to them. They are irrelevant for now. They can change anytime from now until June. Obama was behind Clinton due to superdelegates, but now where is he? Right up in the damn Whitehouse where Clinton is still trying to get her criminal ass in. Anyways, I’m all for #HillaryForPrison. But that’s off topic.

Bernie is gaining momentum. Clinton isn’t really gaining new supporters. She’s an old face, who always changes her views to correlate with the new popular opinion of the day. Bernie’s fresh face and revolutionary ideas are gaining new supporters daily. But thank you good old fashioned superdelegates for not caring about the popular opinion, because that would be too democratic. You all suck.

Bernie mostly appeals to the younger generation. Clinton tries. But unless Bernie’s supporters go out and vote, there probably isn’t much chance as he is going against a popular woman who everyone knows. Then it’s gonna be Trump vs. Hillary. And if that happens, then goodbye America. I loved you.

Why I Believe in Gender Neutral Bathrooms

I do believe in “Gender Neutral” bathrooms. I also live in North Carolina, where HB2 is a highly controversial topic. First of all, let me clear up a few assumptions/ arguments you may have about me and/or bring up.

  1. I am not a lesbian or transgender by any means. You do not have to be in order to be an activist for LGBT rights. Plus, if you choose to attack me by saying that I simply can’t be straight and an activist for LGBT people, then please tell me how that is an insult. Being gay is not an insult. It is simply a sexual orientation. Just like being a heterosexual is. *gasp.*
  2. I am not a pervert, nor do I condone pedophilia. I’ll get onto that argument later.
  3. “You’re one of them libtards.” I suppose so, if that was a real word and not something that insults disabled people and liberals at once. Yay you.

Now onto the wonderful arguments that those have bestowed upon me in the past…

  • “I do not want any man sharing a bathroom with my wife or daughter! They are perverts and pedophiles.”
Man, do I have news for you. No one wants to cut off their genitalia, deal with public backlash for not being their assigned gender, etc. in order to prey upon your precious little Sarah. Also, people do tend to think homosexuality and pedophilia go hand in hand. The harsh fact is, they are just attracted to the innocence of children. The gender of the child does not always match their sexual orientation. Pedophilia is a serious issue that is shared by heterosexuals and homosexuals alike. BUT we like having scapegoats and blame gays because it’s so dang easy. You probably should be more worried about that creepy uncle of yours than some strange person just trying to pee. And if you are that worried, now you can follow them into the bathroom! What a relief.
  • “There are plenty of “gay” pedophiles though! You hear it all over the news.”
First of all, they probably attack those of their gender because they have easier access to children of their gender. Sexual abuse is about control and domination, not about sexual attraction. Reduce easy access to anyone you know and you do not fully trust, as sexual attacks on children are usually from people they already know.
  • “Men and women need to be separated when using restrooms. Period.”
Why? Is using a bathroom a sexual experience for you?  Do you automatically think it is a sexual act to be pissing buddies with the person beside you (who could be gay)? Or are you literally just thinking about going to the bathroom and leaving. Chances are, that transgender person just wants to use the bathroom and leave, too. We also used to think separating genders were good for transportation, education, etc. Why is the bathroom the only place left that segregates gender?
  • “I am uncomfortable with sharing bathrooms with opposite genders.” Cool, that’s why gender neutral bathrooms are usually a third single stall bathroom for anyone to use. This does not mean that you have to only have gender neutral bathrooms. Why can’t we have a gender neutral bathroom? It helps those who wish to take their small children in the bathroom with them, and caretakers for those of the opposite genders. It is a good idea for not just transgenders but anyone who could potentially benefit from them.

So, there you have it. I strongly believe in having a gender neutral bathroom, and I may continue updating this list when I see others who have more ignorant remarks with easy solutions. Go ahead, add your opinion, but I don’t see myself changing my mind about this issue. You can sure try, as long as you listen to what I am saying first.

Why I believe in Assisted Suicide

Assisted Suicide has always been a controversial topic. With people for it calling it the “Right to Die” and those against it are calling it murder, or another form of euthanasia. So, why should you care? If you ever are diagnosed with any form of a terminal illness, then you will be affected. Continue reading “Why I believe in Assisted Suicide”

Why you shouldn’t donate to canned food drives

Now before you call me heartless and say that I should care about those who are unfortunate and hungry, I’m not against feeding the poor; I’m just against canned food drives. They don’t help anything, and there are always better ways to donate than digging in the back of the pantry for food you’ll never eat.

The Disease that Kills By Preventing Sleep

As most of us know, lack of sleep can cause a lot of issues in our daily lives. From hallucinations, mood swings, to having trouble thinking. So of course, doctors recommend you get plenty of beauty rest, but what if a disease can prevent you from going to sleep? It is called Fatal Familial Insomnia and (spoilers) eventually leads to your death. Continue reading “The Disease that Kills By Preventing Sleep”

Boston Terrier: The Right Dog For You?

So if you’re like me, you love Boston Terriers. Maybe you aren’t sure, or maybe you just heard of the breed (Man, have you been missing out.) I personally have one named Mimzy (hence the blog name). She’s the best dog I’ve ever owned, and she is probably the reason Boston Terriers are my favorite breed. Mimzy dog
